Who DASA is
We are a Non-Profit 501(c) (3) corporation established in July of 2002. DASA was formed by two former counselors at a local week long summer camp program. This program was geared to disabled children from age 6 to 21. Together we had close to 30 years of experience there and wanted to start something new for the children who were no longer eligible to attend due to age. We started with a weekend reunion of former campers who we had not seen in years and held the reunion at our original camp ground which was YMCA Camp Ockanickon located in Medford , NJ . We held two Reunions, which are now known as our "Retreat Weekends," for about 30 people. A great time was had by all and it was suggested we do more Retreats and other activities. This has since grown into who we are today. Below are our Vision and Mission statements. They say most of what we are today. Please explore our page. Please feel free to contact us by way of phone, snail mail or email. You can even make a small or large donation by clicking on our donation page and following the directions. We hope you enjoy our page and please let us know what you think. Thank you.
To help address and meet the social needs of disabled adults by providing a common meeting place and arranging social events where the individual can be given an opportunity to seek out social interactions with their peers.
DASA's vision is to become the foundation where every adult with a physical disability throughout Pennsylvania , New Jersey , and Delaware can turn to find resources, network and seek out and participate in social activities with their peers.
